Gatekeeping is good and necessary. That doesn't mean all filters are good for literature or ethical.

You can screech about /pol/ and plug your ears and be a namefagging little pseudoliterate (go make you're own press than, indeed), but you're left with your own lack of concern about an openly racist industry.

It seems that I can only read around 20 pages before losing comprehension. Does this happen to anyone else and if so, what can I do to read for longer periods?

I'm not sure if you are trolling or not. In case you aren't here is my response:
Not at all because the lyrics are not literary. The words serve the music, whereas in Bob Dylan's songs the Music serves the words. Roger Waters described Dark Side of the Moon as a "Soundscape" more than an album or a collection of songs. The smooth transitions between songs as well as them forming a cohesive sound throughout the album suggest this. The wordless solo of Great Gig in the Sky perfectly exemplifies my point.

This place was really valuable to me when I was younger. My interest in literature was originally unrefined and moving in every direction, but this board really got the ball rolling for me in a significant way.
Alot of the patrician snobbery was something I had to unlearn, but without it I couldn't say that I would've gotten this far in life or even in University if I didn't have this anchor in my life.
