What would you add and take away from this list (assuming we're sticking with the Western canon)?

Hello /b/. I want to read Aquinas and was wondering what texts from Aristotle would be most helpful to go through beforehand.

What is the best book for presocratics?

The books I have found so far to seem good are Frederick Copleston's section of his history of philosophy and "The Presocratic Philosophers: A Critical History with a Selection of Texts"

With such a large selections of books to choose from, I'd like to get a recommendation for which book any of you guys found suitable.

I want to read this guy. Would I get a broad enough picture of his shit if I read Nicomachean Ethics, Politics and Metaphysics or should I just read an entire basic works volume? I want to read Aquinas afterwards.

As I've noticed that 'Nicomachean Ethics' is needed to be read in order to understand 'Politics', is Aristotle's 'Phyiscs' needed to be read to understand his 'Metaphysics'

Hi, I'm a dyslexic classics major. Do any of you know a source for audiobooks of classical texts in the original greek? Right now I'm looking for a copy of Aristotle most specifically.

I have been throwing some stuff together for my inevitable and obligatory foray into writing a novel, just like most of you.

I've taken a bit of an interest in historical fiction as of late (especially historical crime fiction).

It would be sort of a double narrative sort of thing, with one of them being in the 1900s, and the other being about Xenocrates meeting Aristotle for the first time, how they became kinda friends and Aristotle of course becomes involved in plot and intrigue.

But my real question is: is Aristotle really an interesting enough guy for readers to want to follow? Can he be made into a kind of badass guy. I am only familiar with his literary theory and he seemed cool enough. I will of course do a lot of research into this if anyone thinks it could be done?

Is there anyone here that actually respects some conservative values and doesn't try to completely bash one side or another?

I know this isn't a relevant topic, but such issues seem to be brought up at daily here.

Dear plato:

The universals are part of the particular you dim-wit. Forms are not in the topus-uranus, they are within this world.

Eat shit and die

Sincerely --Aristotle
