The culture and moral norms which became common in Christian societies were universally reactionary and authoritarian. The only way to make Jesus Christ a 'leftist, anti-authoritarian' figure is to only accept what He says in the New Testament and exclude His revelation of Himself elsewhere, in history and in nature. Only the 'literary' Jesus, the character can be conceived of this way, Not the historical and true God.
