What Conan story should I read first?

This thread is for masculine literature. Give me your most T-boosting, high-agency, aggression-channeling stuff.

I wish to read stories of the days of high adventure!

Recommend some of the better Conan books as I seek to learn the riddle of steel.

Tolkien was actually a huge fan of the Conan stories, to the extent that you might say they're LOTR's inspiration. But be sure to only read Robert E. Howard's stuff, L Sprague De Camp is total shit.

Conan fights a lot of monsters

Conan the Cimmerian ought to be in consideration. He's more than a pulp hero- he's the black and viscous Id of manhood made flesh. There is no blood and iron as sharp as Conan's.

I wrote it just for the theme. They had a 3k word limit, so it wasn't super long, and therefore didn't take a huge amount of time.

They probably realized- correctly- that the short story I submitted is one in a series of stories taking place in a universe I've created. I wish some of these magazines and journals weren't so averse to taking on something that's part of a bigger world, that clearly has more going on with it.

I wonder if any of them would have accepted "The Phoenix and the Sword" if it were submitted today.
