But couldn't the same thing be said about every other stance on economics and politics? Especially conservativism which according to Paul Gottfried was primarily about conserving the power of the pre industrial ruling classes? Even Burke says his concern is about the authority of the rulers and the clergy and the aristocracy, he uses the phrase "the rich and powerful" positively, as those who should be regarded.

Any thoughts on Sam Harris's critique of Islam? He says it is the number one threat to equality of the sexes and gay rights in the world and that Muslims can only assimilate through ignorance of their religion.
