It really is a matter of, for people who don't understand what Russel is talking about, of having inverted or been absent of a real grasp of what and how people who are leaders actually become leaders in the first place.

You can reread what I said yesterday evening about how the question of logistics as I think this is the clearest way to convey the practicality of this point or the point, rather, of why pleb demagogues are useless creatures;

1) the demagogue is already a slave of the mob, in order to gain their praise he has to say things to them that they wan to hear; to confirm their biases, and there is nothing truthful in this that will remedy any of their problems. The moment he or she stops confirming their biases they lynch him, so he's in a weak position and manipulated by them from the beginning.

2) His (or her) logistics depends entirely upon mobocracy and slavish followers who are deluded into thinking 'he' is powerful and 'not' that he is a slave; thus his inner group will not be functioning in reality and will cause problems as they go on because they are operating under their own imagination.

3) the necessity of repression or censorship to enable the demagogue and his peoples fantasies to persist constitutes in every step forwards several steps away from truth, as their perception is inverted. Thus as they claim successes they've in reality grossly undermined themselves.

I could go on, but the above 3 suffice to demonstrate how the Hitlerian Model is a predictable path to failure and self-defeat; largely because it relies upon flattering the pride of the mob and inventing scapegoats to blame their problems on as the problems which cause their suffering (themselves or their own societal flaws) are never remedied and are, contrarily, pretended to be great things, only compounding and fortifying those original flaws.
