Thank you, it's not so much a matter of sealing oneself off, as it is "just saying no" to anymore goyslop; one eventually realizes our culture has become incapable of even adequately entertaining us, beyond tricking us into engaging in pathological, addictive behaviors in a desperate bid for some relief.

The whole situation doesn't even merit much in the way of lamentation if you take a broader historical perspective. We'll bounce back in five hundred or a thousand years, as always. The tiny arc of history that we occupy with its of-the-moment political fads and fashions, "the current year", is so very very small.
