Has this ever been done before in literature?

>God is generally a nice, approachable guy and all the crazy shit that happens is more or less him just doing his job; he doesn't necessarily like killing good people or causing natural disasters but it's what he's supposed to do
>(in-universe) The Bible pretty much has it all wrong and God is either laughing at how wrong it is or is annoyed at how wrong it is
>he also especially doesn't like when people do terrible things in his name (e.g. killing innocent people, denying people their rights/freedoms for disagreeing with their beliefs) and tries hard not to force people into worshiping him
>God is a relatively young and new God; other Gods have ruled over previous and other universes much longer than He has

I just personally like the idea of God being brought down to a more humanistic level while still being God. I can see God being all these things while still making sure no one ever plays God. I'm not a believer but from a narrative standpoint it has potential.

Ethics and Philosophy homework on reasons for and against God's existence (balanced and unbiased). I need legitimate arguments based on evidence and (to a certain extent) opinion. I am struggling with this because I have absolutely no strong feelings on the subject. Thank you soooo much in advance :)

Is literature finished?

I mean, has it all been done now? What themes and ideas are there left to be explored that haven't already been done so perfectly?
