For example, the Clans have a very interesting society of caste-based clans, where members are genetically designed from birth to be perfect. They then receive training and further genetic modifications to specialize them for their roles. Pilots tend to be leaner and have better hand-eye coordination, Elementals(like the chick in the picture in the post you qouted) tend to stand a good head-taller than the average human and are super muscular, ect.

THe Inner Sphere nations are cool too. There's stories of the larger supernations(like the Draconis Combine and the Free Worlds League) manipulating the politics of the smaller and weaker Periphery states to create buffer zones and to fight proxy wars.

Also, there's giant robots, if that in and of itself isnt a selling point, check your testosterone level.
