You can't really *know* anything without making a fundamental assumption based on some sort of faith, and given we (evidently) aren't being tortured right now I think it's very sensible for at least a part of that assumptive base to be that God is good. Were he evil surely he'd just torture us right away, right? I can't prove that and you can't prove it wrong either but it makes sense to me and probably most people so I don't think your argument holds up in that light, that is, that you can't really show the fear of eternal torture is something people ought to take seriously.
