I still have no idea what he’s talking about. Everybody says its talking about excommunication, but what part of excommunication involves “the destruction of the flesh?” That sounds pretty lethal.

Why was he such a self-hating Jew? Why was he so against circumcision? why did he speak ill of the tribe? Why did he change his name?
I can't help but get the impression that he hated himself from his epistles and was attracted to this strange man who claimed to be a prophet so that he had a chance to reinvent himself; I'm almost certain that Christianity wouldn't have been so hostile and anti-Semitic if it wasn't for him.

What are the best book on Paul, his writings and how he affected Christian development?

It doesn't get said enough. His letters made Christianity what it is.

Paul (pbuh) literally retroactively refuted all profane knowledge.
