>4chan is kill

As long as there is no better social media site with freedom of speech good OC will always emerge on 4chan and it will not die.
I don't think, that the
>WE are the cool ones
hivemind mentality is killing 4chan.
Currently there is still slight censorship, everybody can post as Anonymous and if deemed necessary new boards will be created. In case of a happening go to 4chan (or twitter). That is the basic formula.
By the way I thought that Trump winning would be the end.
There was a prophecy, that 4chan would not survice the big cyberwar in 2020.
In fact I thought this place to be rather dead in the second half of 2017. Most threads on the biggest boards, /b/ and /pol/ were created and filled by bots. YLYL has been filled with bananas. /tv/ filled with celeb shit. Many boards like /fa/, /out/, /g/ were boring and filled with stupid
>should I buy this shit
threads which had a lower level of purchase advices than typical forums.
4chan memes appeared everywhere and many memes like cuck went mainstream, brought into it by 4chan users, using it the way they would use it here. Kind of too much 'winning'.
Much of the worsening has started before Donald Trump but with him being president 4chan became omnipresent.

Weebshit, anime and manga have gotten less and less popular. I guess that this goes for many newfags, who came here from /r/the_donald but my personal interest in japanese cartoons or most japanese things has faded as well after having read and watched a lot. That is probably true for other people here, since I see few anime pictures in most threads.
There are more people coming here for non-japanese shit than anime.
They don't seem to have a connection to anime and most have no greater interest in it. Which is a bit surprising, since it seems to me, that animu has gotten very popular among all people below 25.

Today many boards are still shit and I remember the times fondly when /tv/ had more posts about obscure arthouse movies from Europe and Japan than celeb shit about star wars actors.
I expected some tor forums to be the successors of 4chan but a lot of forums in the darknet are shut down and 4chan is somehow still alive.
Yet Pepe and Wojak are still alive and kicking and I have rarely seen the banana in YLYL threads for some time now.
/lit/ hasn't changed a lot in the last 5 years and it is not dependant on the spiritual energy of 4chan.org since its content is rather fueled by youtube, goodreads, lits top-100 list, university courses and of course /pol/.
That goes for many boards which are just proper comment sections for sites like twitter, liveleak or youtube which don't offer the same freedom.
At some point 4chan is kill, but not now. We haven't reached the top yet.
