To a man without friends, he is dead too, although man knows this (even if he doesn't know that he knows this) and instead chooses never to venture beyond the safety of mediocrity to minimize the risks of this fact -- ultimately man consigns himself to a life devoid of greatness, adventure, or accomplishment (impossible without risk) subsisting instead in an existence where he will be struck down either by chance or tedium. This describes the majority of modern people in western civilization, demented monads who squander god's lift and live only for fear of death in a curtained world bereft of light.

All good things requires risk, risk requires friendship.

Rule Breaking and Political Imagination. It's for class and I probably won't finish it by tomorrow morning, which is when I was supposed to have read it by. It's unfortunate but it seems that a precipitous drop in personal morale has rode in along with this dreary weather. I can't muster up the wherewithal to actually concern myself with my academic career. It's quite frightening in a curious detached sort of way. It's as if I was watching someone being eaten by a shark from the safety of sandy shores.

I'm too fucking stupid to contribute to society and no university wants to touch me but any work that doesn't require a degree is too much for me because I'm a broken human being in more ways than one. All I wanna do is shit out low-quality pulp garbage all day because it's the only thing in my life I've done that I've simultaneously found both fun, and that I've done with enough proficiency that I didn't immediately give up on it.
