Are there any video games that /lit/ would consider an actual work of literature, or is the whole medium just kiddie-fodder crap?

Not all gamers are mouthbreathers, you know. Just the children who browse /v/, and the niggers who play fighting games.

How do you feel, to know that this superior artwork of the most superior artform has directly eclipsed your millennia of pathetic scribblings and rendered them obsolete?

Just as theatre eclipses print, and cinema eclipses theatre, and video games eclipse cinema, Torment eclipses the narrative efforts of all works in all lower artforms.

For theatre IS literature, but with a stage. Cinema IS theatre, but the screen provides for fantastic production beyond the faculties of a play. And video games ARE cinema, but the input device allows for play, and immersion beyond the faculties of a mere screen.

Movies are just video game cutscenes.
Plays are just movie sets.
Books are just play scripts.
Stunning narrative is just one element out of Torment's grand composition.

OK /lit/, we're having an argument about Planescape Torment over at /v/. For those of you who have played it, how would you rate the writing (and that alone) in relation to say a good book?

hmph

OP I do not agree. SotN, in all its greatness, can't be heralded as an example of exceptional writing in a video game. It's basically a spinoff from bram stocker's dracula.

lit-eo game deserving novelization + awards = pic related

Hey /lit/, i am a from /v/ and decided to start reading some books, however i got no idea what at the moment.

What i would like is something similar to the videogame Planescape: Torment, which is a philosophical adventure about the nature of man and the search of a forgotten past in a dark and gritty D&D world.

Any suggestions would be welcomed, love /v/
