What are /lit/'s thoughts about the existential thomist movement in the 20th century? This movement was spearheaded by Étienne Gilson, Jacques Maritain, and Fr. Joseph Owens. Pic related, it's Gilson. If you don't think Aquinas' metaphysics withstands the critique of people like Kant, Wolff, Heidegger, Husserl, I highly encourage you to check out these authors that revitalized Aquinas' metaphysics. Some more recent existential thomists have been JP2, W. Norris Clarke, John P. O'Callaghan, David S. Oderberg (he's never expressed himself as thomist, but his views cohere), and John F.X. Knasas.
