V. In Love disgusted me to the point I threw the book down the aisle of a Greyhound. It was passed back to me with much less confusion than you'd expect.

American Psycho's violence was a joke, like an actual joke you were supposed to laugh at. It's Patrick lying, pretending to be a tough guy.

What happens is they sound great and deep and resonant to yrself but like nails on a chalkboard to everyone else. Ye wanna minimize eye rolls. Think Rolls Royce not a custom IROC-Z.

The harder it is to part w/it, the more of a darling it is. I usually make a sep draft w/o it and keep the original. It makes parting easier.

It was implied that it was the kids, then the narrator gets really sidetracked, and then at the end his brother(?) says no one consider that the teacher might not have meant the kids. I thought it was a good gestalt flip, especially in light of that awful dream he tells us about with his dad at the office.
