>How hard is it legally speaking to homeschool a child in America and how much of a disadvantage are they at in society?
It isn't difficult to homeschool your child in theory. You can follow a public school curriculum. And you can still have your child take tests like the SAT when it comes to that time. I wouldn't say they are at any disadvantage in society, besides not being able to have any nostalgia for school events like prom.
>How do you socialize such a child?
If you are religious, then church and church groups. Besides that you can bring your child to the park or have your child be friends with your friends children. After a certain age, your child will likely go out to hang with kids at designated hang out places like the skate park.
>Is it just impossible and your kid will just always turn to technology
Nothing wrong with technology, ultimately it is incredibly easy to set up a firewall and not allow certain websites. I believe this is a good tool for all parents, not just homeschool parents. But also you can educate your child on the technology. And educate them on what you believe is right and wrong. You can instill conservative beliefs with the child and really just explain to them why you have these beliefs and why they are superior compared to other political beliefs.

So I wouldn't knock it until you try it. You can also send your child to school at any age too. I was homeschooled until highschool. It wasn't a crazy transition for me since I knew a kid there and I was friends with him and his friends.
