Tell me again why I'm supposed to give my money to the types of people who work in publishing and take their opinions seriously

>8:30 pm
>weekday
>borrowed mum's car at 4:30, spent the entire time driving around, drinking coffee, eating junk food, feeling bad about life, browsing 4chan, optimistic about working hard tomorrow
>will go to gym and then home and then lie on bed browsing 4chan instead of reading

Well, that's been typical for the past year.

Instead of dropping one of the usual copy pastas, I'll just ask my questions straight up:

How do you get the motivation to do stuff and deal with stuff and risk ridicule and wasting time and energy? Hard mode: Don't just scream, "DUDE THE SUBLIME LMAO"

How much do the books you read and like correspond with your mental state and circumstances at the time? I'm starting to realise it may be a lot.

The only novels I've read and liked in the past year are model behaviour and the secret history (this one i liked a lot). Both of them are novels about young people living the life I never had.

I could mention a few other examples but I think it's self explanatory. One thing I will say is that I am much less open minded now than I was at the age of 18. I also have a much bigger index-card / surface level knowledge of things so I have dismissed many authors before I've even started

>tfw 4chan is the closest thing I have to a social life
>tfw I see the boards as having their own personalities
>tfw the boards I browse that are the dumbest on average are also the funniest and contain the highest IQ people who you see infrequently (r9k/pol/tv)
>tfw the boards that are smarter on average never take advantage of 4chan memes (lit/his/sci)
>tfw I feel so bad when missing out on memes
>tfw I see a funny series of posts on tv and laugh the hardest I have for months
>tfw I empathise with an r9k post so fucking hard
>tfw pol's paranoia came true in some fucked up way and I am amazed and enjoying it on pol

This is also kind of tortuous because I feel guilty for not being productive irl.

It's also really fucking exhausting when you make a long post debunking bullshit and then you see that same bullshit later.
