Almost 3/4s into Lyonesse and it's been great so far. It has a little bit of everything, multiple PoVs, fairies, knights, wizards, everything except battle or combat scenes, though it's so comfy I don't really mind anything too large scale. The world building is slightly random but it's part of its charm (don't know what to make of 14th century Skandinavians with those customs though). It feels very similar to what I had in mind while reading Le Morte d'Arthur and about hundreds of knights, fair maidens, enchanted forests, etc. It fits Vance's quick style perfectly. I just hope to catch a more classical or direct reference (something like "fell thunderously to the ground" but in Vance's own words).
I had no idea that it was this long or that Vance wrote it with some software (apparently he was almost entirely blind when he wrote it).
It's a shame the book is a bit problematic for this age and that Hollywood is doing everything in its power to do shitty Arthurian adaptations.
