Eh, I’ll say the most recent sci-fi novels are power fantasies. Flowers for Algernon is my all time favorite book and it’s not a power fantasy.

I saw an anon here mention reading Flowers For Algernon by Daniel Keyes, so I decided to do the same because it was on my backlog for years now. The book was brutal. Thoroughly unpleasant. It was like reliving my childhood and every embarrassing thing I've ever done in my life all over again. I never knew I was a retard. It's either the best or worst book I've ever read. I can't decide.
