hey /lit/
my brother and i are actively searching for a book to read and discuss kind of like our own mini book club, but we’re having trouble deciding what to read.
i would like to find a book that provokes thought and maybe leads to a discovery within ourselves and within our lives. (something along the lines of the conspiracy against the human race or books of that nature).
do you guys have any recommendations on what to read that would kind of fit the bill? or maybe books you find thought provoking and interesting

as a philosopher myself i ponder: why does sex degrade women so much? why do i feel repulsion and sadness for considering the causes of her bruises were due to sex? i dont think they were and seriously i hope they werent. every deflowering of a woman outside of marital sex is a tragedy. am i alone in this
