I'm pessimistic about anarchism but weirdly (but cautiously) optimistic about Marxism making a comeback. A completely unknown schoolteacher is the frontrunner in the Peru elections after the first round last week and could very well win the second round, in a country larger than Venezuela and important for the world gold and copper trade. Here's the fun part: his part explicitly describes itself as Marxist-Leninist and stans Cuba and Venezuela. You have to wonder the freakout happening behind the scenes and whether this will get out of control.

There are also important struggles in America but even radical leftists in America like to think of themselves as the protagonists of history when the buckling in the U.S. could end up snapping a "weak link" in the "chain" of global value production somewhere else down the line. Just a thought though
