I used to think that I was like a wild dog, traumatized and confused, trying to make sense of the world. Making no noise louder than a whimper, and just doing the most basic actions to survive and not draw attention to oneself.
Now I realize that I am a man, and just as a dog should bark, a man should speak. No past trauma should stop me from doing what is in my nature.
