Adresses to the german nation
>So there is nothing left for us but just to apply the new system to every German without exception, so that it is not the education of a single class, but the education of the nation
He was highly progressive for it's time, blaming princes seeking individual interests and educating just the higher classes.
>All distinctions of classes … will be completely removed and vanish. In this way there will grow up among us, not popular education, but real German national education.
A little bit nationalistic here but it's expected as germany was being invaded by napoleon and it's main problem was the education system.
>"it is essential that from the very beginning the pupil should be continuously and completely under the influence of this education, and should be separated altogether from the community, and kept from all contact with it.
He saw that schooling was useless if after 8 hours of learning the student will be roting it's brain with mindless distraction and senseless vanities.
Finally i think that Fichte was at worst platonic in the sense that the individual was only a part(even if organic) of the whole but i can't disagree with him that senseless criticism was counterproductive to the social function of education.
