/lit/ - Literature

Hello /lit/, I'm interested in how all of you procure your reading materials. I haven't read many novels, but once I came to the realization that they're the purest medium of entertainment then I became interested in all the great material I'm potentially missing out on. With the plethora of books (and therefore the coinciding amount of low quality material) it's overwhelming to delve into this world.

I realize there's a guide (which I intend to use), but I'm interested in what to do beyond that. Do you all find books of a specific type or genre, or do you just look for whatever is "good"?

Does /lit/ often discuss newly released books, is that a staple of discussion here? Much as how most of /a/ is the discussion of newly airing shows.
