I remember those tests, they were fucking bullshit. It was called "AR" for Accelerated Reading. Every book in the library was color coded with those circle stickers meant for yard sale prices. Colors stood for difficulty level so my first book was "yellow" for 2nd grade.

It was a children's book about an old guy and his different colored shit. "His gardening pale is red!" "His wheelbarrow is green!" "His balls are blue!" Literally that was it, page after water-colored page of identifying the color of household objects.

My first AR test was on that book. "What color was the man's dresser?" "What color was the man's pants?" "What color was the man's salad spinner?"

I failed that test with a 30% and the teacher thought I was an idiot for failing a children's book.
