Pic related is a good resource. It's not specific to an architectural style or era. Rather, it describes common patterns across good architectures, both traditional and modern, and how those patterns combine for well designed built environments.

A Pattern Language was pretty interesting. It spans urban planning, architecture, and across into building details, so its not pure urban planning.

Pretty good book on not just building design, but urban planning, and a good dose of philosophical musing as well.
