Does this have a happy ending? Please tell me it all ends ok. They deserve it. There's no way it can end happily.

But yeah, this book is fucking magnificent. Definitely creeping up to be one of my favorites. If Hugo can keep this going for another 800 pages then I will consider myself a convert.

>"There are men and classes of men that stand above the common herd: the soldier, the sailor, and the shepherd not infrequently; the artist rarely; rarelier still, the clergyman; the physician almost as a rule. He is the flower (such as it is) of our civilization; and when that stage of man is done with, and only to be marvelled at in history, he will be thought to have shared as little, as any in the defects of the period, and most notably exhibited the virtues of the race. Generosity he has, such as is possible to those who practise an art, never to those who drive a trade; discretion, tested by a hundred secrets; tact, tried in a thousand embarrassments; and what are more important, Heraclean cheerfulness and courage. So that he brings air and cheer into the sick room, and often enough, though not so often as he wishes, brings healing."

That's fucking awesome, I am going to show this to my dad, he'll eat this this right up. He is always going on about how being a doctor is such a privilege and despite all the politics and minor corruption, it is still a beacon from the corruption that plagues every other field etc.

The story of Turin Turamabar is probably the most legendary of all Tolkien tales.

Also, pause to reflect on the fact that Tolkien was a language lover at heart and created the races AFTER inventing their languages.

Shit is so cash. I would have loved to have picked that man's brain.

Tomorrow I'm taking a flight for a ten days trip. Two days after my return I'll be starting my IDF mandatory service. What is nice is that I'm going to be a writer for IDF's official newspaper/s. Still, it's a very intense job and I won't be able to post on /lit/ as I once have.

I have to admit that I'm one of those who've been since forever nagging for a literature board and I've been here since day 1- through the better and worse times. Recently /lit/ has been getting better in my opinion, the scope of discussion is starting to get close to decent, and I'm glad I took part of it. Keep up the good work.

Gonna miss you guys ;_;

If I could choose one dead author to a take for a Fun Day, I'd take Foster Wallace. He was a true bro.

I posted on their forums for a while.
I had many a lol on ED.

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
