I read the first half of it, thought it was a beautiful religious tale, started studying the Bible/Catholic church, then realized Christianity is x10,000 times worse than even reddit anti-theists imagine it is once you actually investigate the corruption and theological absurdities priests hide from their own congregations. I was leaning toward conversion but holy shit once you actually learn about Christianity (especially Catholicism) it is giga cringe.

Anyway now my enjoyment of the second half of the book will be tainted by the fact that I realized Catholicism is so gay. People only like this book because of the pretty depictions of faith and medieval Spain but really it's all a bunch of sophistry.
