Read his other books with intervals of reading poetry or whatever as sorbet and then return to it, is my humble suggestion.

I agree and I also hate snobs. I like both comic books and literature. I am not one of the people you are describing.

>I went to college, baby.
Then you should know not to call great books second-tier without reading them first.

How can you really know you understand a novel or poem?
How can you really know you are well-read enough to enter academia?
How can you really know what you say and write isn't sophistry?

-

If you read, are you expected to understand and become well-read?
If you can not really know when you are well-read or when you have understood something,
then why read?

And if you don't read, you are an idiot...
And if you do read and do not understand you are an idiot...

You have the choice between fire and fire.

How do you mean?
I have serious problems with the lack of structure and direction in his poems.
They also come across as overly sentimental and more importantly incredibly dry and boring,
attributed mainly to the arbitrary listing off of random farming utensils and manufacturing equipment.
