I've read a collection of Basho's haiku and they were some of the best poetry I've ever read. Now I want to read more traditional haiku, so I got myself a collection of Buson and a collection of Issa. Which one do you recommend I read first?
Do you have any recommended readings on haiku in general (theoretical writings on the form)?

pic related is a painting by Basho, with his haiku:
Quietly, quietly,
yellow mountain roses fall –
sound of the rapids.

how do I get into haikus? is there a convenient book collecting haikus of different poets, styles and periods? does it even make sense if you don't speak japanese?

Can we have a poetry thread? Lets share, discuss, and critique our poetry.

I made some haikus at work, feeling inspired by the weather where I live, first time making poetry since middle school. Using it to try and flex my creative writing.

>I dream of Summer
>Once more I look at its glow
>Swim in Nostalgia

I'll post some more
