I think we're looking at this from the inside out. Young women are the most important component of society in terms of its social stability. Trying to remember the name of a book i read ages ago /lit/. It was set in the past, in a cold country, possibly scandinavian i'm not sure. Anyway the main characters are a father and son, and it's a vampire horror story (old style vampires not tween style)

All i can remember is it had a textured cover which showed a picture of something, maybe a sword, and the cover was mostly blue. Also the title may have had the word sword in it. Or it could have been song. Or both.
