Has anyone ever successfully refuted any of the reasoning in the socratic dialogues?
I’ve read quite a few dialogues and some sound a bit iffy or selective in reasoning. I’ve been searching for detailed analysis and interpretation of some of Socrates’s reasoning, but it’s never as good as I’d like.

How many goddamn languages do you need to know to get into philosophy? So far Ancient Greek, Latin, German, French, and Italian, all seem obvious to me, what else?

Why was Socrates such a dick? All he does is pretend to play dumb, kiss people's asses patronizingly and sarcastically, then pull the rug underneath near the end.

I'm a brainlet and I am having trouble understanding Plato.

Are there any good secondary texts/companion guides to his works that will help me understand them better?

You have to translate what he said into our modern understanding
For example in one study rats had a harder time navigating mazes when exposed to modern pop music but navigated faster when exposed to classical
This is probably what's behind the whole theory of playing classical music into a pregnant woman's belly and why people think it will make them more intelligent
