Why is Hegel important? Is he not important at all, and people just say he's important so they don't feel like they've wasted years on complete nonsense?

What can I learn from Hegel? Are his writings all just bullshit?

He's always listed as a classic influential thinker, but everything he wrote down seems like intentional nonsense. What do I get for studying his vague unintelligible history for years as opposed to studying actual history for years? Looking for genuine answers.
