Thanks, just read the first few chapters online. Pretty kino bare bone way of writing, leaving enough open for your mind to fill in the blanks. Going to order the first three volumes now.

ive noticed something's been lost, a certain intensity and splendor of consciousness that is perceptibly waning. read even a letter from just a 100 years ago and compare it to the average article gets published today. shit, just watch an art film from the 60s and compare them to the independent """art""" films of today and get back to me (do Seventh Seal vs. Lady Bird)

loneliness, suffering, political and social turmoil is a soulmaker. what this guy says here: >>11274204

having the option to tune out these conditions is killing us, reverting us to anonymous goop.

simply put: without distractions of entertainment or other people, you had to make your own fullness. and that's just not an option for most people today because they don't even realize it exists. you know how during a blackout you're able find a joy in simple things, small things, because your standards for what qualifies as leisure activity no longer involves the entire fucking noosphere at your fingertips? now imagine that for a lifetime.

I... I think im going to disconnect soon. see where this takes me...

Any philosophy that drives home the transience of things, the meaninglessness of desire, the reality of the void and the inevitability of death. Overcome your broken heart so fucking hard you overcome the human condition. I-it's what I did.

I recommend: Michelstaedter, Shestov, Kierkegaard, Schopenhauer, Weil, Kazantzakis, and Lacan/Zizek

1. Can't hurt.
2. Nothing matters but what exposes you to desert you are trying to overcome. Everything that keeps you small is out. Video games, escapism, these things have a centripetal pull on your psyche, they suck you into four walls. Even nature can be like this if your only idea of nature is the sanitized bougie pastoral. Your nature should be primordial nature, the Hyperborean sublime, wide, unbroken horizons, a nonzero chance of death just for being there.
3. Nah, self-initiation might be your only route. Don't associate with traditions unless you found a guru or can resist the gravity of the collective.
