What you need to do is send her a text/call her/meet her in person, and lay everything down. You go into the situation understanding that she already has rejected you. Try giving her a call. If she picks up, tell her everything, and tell her you plan not to talk to her again since that would be best for both for you, and hang up. Something like that. If she doesnt pick up, wait a bit, and if she doesnt call back, leave a message.

Normally id tell you just to forget it and to give yourself closure, but it seems your looking for some concrete closure you can point to.

I'm interested in seeing literature becoming a subscription based service again.

I think that there is much that literature can take from the way that comic books are distributed. It's also pretty founded: all the Russian greats wrote this way.
