Writers who have natural skill in the art and have exciting stories to tell do not need to get a degree. I think what OP needs to do is really ask himself:

"Am I ok with my writing?"

If you are, there's no need to take a class on it. That's how I feel. When I write, I'm comfortable with it and my critics tell me it's finely worded. Write some content and show it to someone. Evaluate yourself before making this decision.
