Is China an example of strong outgroup preference being a viable winning strategy?
In all likelihood all those horror stories of the CCP spying on its own people and instituting dystopian social credit score systems probably have a LITTLE bit of truth to them, but despite the relentless efforts of Western propaganda outlets trying to tarnish their reputations as pariahs in the international community they seem to be pretty friendly.
In stark contrast to European neo-imperialism, China's Belt and Road initiative is shaping up to be an agreement that will benefit both China and the African nations they partner with. There's also the fact that they're the only ones who even try to help North Korea.
In an age of relentlessly cynical geopolitics, it's oddly touching to see one country that still believes in making the visions of Third Worldism and Socialism a reality.
