I just remembered this one time at my old job. I was working and my boss, who I liked because he was a really nice guy, he walks in and he says "What's up anon" and I didn't say anything because I couldn't think of the right thing to say. I thought about saying "How's it going" but I thought no, I say that one way too much, and so I tried to think of something else but I couldn't think of anything, and by that time too much time had passed in silence and so I said nothing and continued working.
Looking back on it, it must have seemed like I was being a jerk because I just ignored someone who was saying hi to me. I didn't mean to be rude. That wasn't my intention.
Have you ever done something like this? Is this normal?

The GOD tier stories in literature are no diferent in a fundamental sense from crappy mexican soap operas.

They just happen to be not shit, but they're just works about the personal and inner life of a character, like any fucking soap opera about 3-4 characters.

War and peace is just a turkish soap opera about napoleonic russia or some shit like that.

Sometimes the CANON is writen with some pretty prose and talking about the writer pseuds opinions on something like economics, theology, history, philosophy, but they clearly are less developed and worse than any fucking proper modern college textbook on those topics.

And the worst shit on the canon are soap operas about some mythological shit with classical references to centuries old books and dead people only college professors know about.

But at their core, they're just soap operas for pseuds.

What works do I need to read in order to understand when genius writers start to reference classical shit?
