How does lit feel about Pasolini ?

Any translators here? What's the best way to gain a foothold in the business? Just apply and have a publisher test you?

Do they respond to someone with zero to show on the portfolio?

Who is the writer who was also a great director and why is it Pasolini? I can't think of anyone else who matches him in talent in both areas. Besides his high quality novels, stories and good poetry, many of his films are also adaptations of major literary works.

For those who have never read him, I would recommend starting with a either a Violent life or Stories from the City of God, as both capture a lot of his main preoccupations and would spring board you into his early movies.
