Do you know that anger and depression are substitute emotions?

If you consider this to be true, how does it affect the way you live your life?

What is that one song that has persistently refused to leave your head?

I've been singing this for about 2 weeks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btOyj3qM_Dk

Early on, what were some of the books that inspired your enjoyment of reading?

What type of logical fallacy is person B committing in this example? It happens to me regularly when debating. ( I think it's slippery slope).

A: I think it is entirely in vain when sub-normal looking women reckon an expensive wardrobe will improve their appearance. Almost invariably will a good looking woman in a gym outfit look better than a not very good looking woman who is all dolled up in extravagant makeup and ostentatious clothes.

B: So what your saying is a good looking woman dressed in rags like she just walked out of a tip would still be good looking? LOL XD.

Does /lit/ know of any philosophy which repudiates either women or marriage as in much of Schopenhauer's work.

Where's the best place to enrich your brain with cultural references?
Encylopedias and Dictionaries aren't ad hoc enough.

this is ok - http://www.mels.gouv.qc.ca/sections/cultureEducation/moisculture11/index_en.asp?page=reperesculturels

keep deluding yourself
You know you'd rather be out somewhere with someone doing something than being here with nobody and nothing doing squat, and all the words and phrases and logic in the world will never replace human interaction

>ESOTERIC, adj. Very particularly abstruse and consummately occult. The ancient philosophies were of two kinds,—exoteric, those that the philosophers themselves could partly understand, and esoteric, those that nobody could understand. It is the latter that have most profoundly affected modern thought and found greatest acceptance in our time.

Pretentiousness is quality which plagues a promising mind and is precisely why the majority of /lit/ is seemingly enamoured of esoteric(as it were) philosophers.

Which nonfiction book contributed most valuably to your knowledge and/or informed your personality the most?

I want to learn about interesting things but I feel as though reading lengthy and comprehensive works about a particular point of education is an inefficient way of learning unless you
a) have a lot of time to read or b) like reading and consequently extrapolate a few valuable notions.

I'm quite a sociable person and, particularly recently, I feel inclined to pick up the encyclopaedia and read it simply because it would engender the most fruition in personality/knowledge.

I've read the sticky. What do you guys think is the best book about drugs from an educational viewpoint.
It's proved difficult to find a balance between factual detail and personal experience in books.
