All right! So that's all I have off the top of my head.
However, I'm sure you guys must also have some other interesting questions of your own. So feel free to ask away yourselves, if you can't come up with answers for my oddball queries.

The spark of true creativity is rare. English departments are full of well trained and educated people, many of whom have a high degree of linguistic intelligence, but who almost uniformly lack that spark. No amount of pinning awards on one another will ever make them great writers or poets. Conversations coded in jargon can only obfuscate this status but never elevate their talents. The perpetual seething that they do when someone outside of the ranks of academia has their talent popularly acknowledged is almost delicious.

Right now I've reading Stoner by John Williams on and off today . I also bought a copy of Confessions by Saint Augustine and Lolita. Might get an other book or two more since I got a $20 amazon gift card as a Christmas gift and never used it . Any suggestions?

so, /lit/, you've decided you want to be a philosopher. what qualifications do you have that make you a worthy candidate? why should people buy your books and consider your theories? what makes you stand out as the next Plato, Nietzsche, Kierkegaard or Kant?
