I’m not sure if this should be on /lit/, /pol/ or the technology board, since the last two have horrible discussion, but does anyone realize how horrible an idea like Facebook’s Metaverse is and how wastes of innovation like this are stupid? I mean, couldn’t they be innovating solutions for climate change like trying harder to switch to safer renewable energy sources instead? Why are they making an escapist fantasy for rich people as a distraction so that people care less about the environment? Does the power that comes from being an influential and rich upper class member of society make these people just become narcissists who don’t care about everyone else’s well being? What do these people even plan to do when Earth becomes truly uninhabitable? Why won’t some people at least try to incite anger towards these powerful people who only care for themselves?

Imagine being a serious reader of literature and not being Catholic. Just take a moment to imagine that.

I try very hard to resist any kind of misogyny, but it has genuinely been my experience that I have yet to find a truly intelligent woman. I go on dates from time to time, but any time a relationship starts it feels as if I have to stupefy myself in order to interact with what is essentially a big baby who happens to provide sex/etc.

I'm not even MGTOW or anything like that. I just want an intellectual equal of the opposite sex. Most men I encounter are stupid as fuck as well, don't get me wrong. But even then, 'most' men is a step-up from 'all' women.

It is interesting, and not at all surprising, to see how many manlets try so hard to compensate for their height. At 5ft6", I might also be guilty of this - but where I live is practically Hobbiton, and I'm a little taller than average. Most girls are 5ft-5ft4".
