>the greedy book publishers have pushed e-book pricess to absurd levels.
most kindle books aren't more than 15 dollars, usually around 10. well known books are usually around 8 to 9, classics are significantly cheaper, but most aren't more than 15. people always bring up this point and i never know what they're talking about because in my experience it's not true. are you poor? do you consider $15 bucks for an entirely written and edited book a lot? that's essentially the price of a fast food dinner.

>In a footnote of his 1909 work, Analysis of a Phobia in a Five-year-old Boy, Freud theorized that the universal fear of castration was provoked in the uncircumcised when they perceived circumcision and that this was "the deepest unconscious root of anti-Semitism".[189]

Wtf? I thought he lived in an apartment. Earlier in the story he said there was a lobby you had to go through to get into the building. And if the plumber drives around in a scooter, why didn't he have it the first time? I don't live in emu-land but what building lets people drive their scooters inside? This story reeks of bullshit.

>if you meet 100 people, the odds that none of them are trans is the odds that each of them isn't trans (about 97.8%) multiplied together. 97.8% to the 100th power is about 11.2%. The odds that out of 100 not-apparently-trans people none are trans is only about 11.2%

>genocide
>top of hate pyramid
State sanctioned genocide is not an act of hatred, and grouping it as such is an incorrect, an illogical association. Nay, this is more so a list of what an individual finds most repulsive, which, is considerably different from judging acts of hatred.
If anything, it [Genocide] is the conclusion of a cold rationality, isolated from the equation of human emotion. A solution to a a perceived problem. Hate may have contributed to the rise but the act itself is not hateful.
Nor is it "criminal" as the curly bracket groups it in, as would be carried out by the state and sanctioned actors of the state, and thus is "de jure". Indeed, judging it solely by the act, as distasteful as it may be, it is more moral and less criminal in and of itself than ALL of the acts in the tier that follows.
Holding this pyramid as actual belief is untenable, and shows contradictory beliefs. It demonstrates that morality, while in itself good, for many becomes separated from reason when ascribing ordinality as means of ranking.

In the 90's and early 2000 it was conservatives that wanted to ban my games for being violent, now it's the liberals that want to ban my games for violence against women and sexism, and they are trying to force diversity in games.

Taking a crash course in philosophy is missing the point. The reason it's better to read primary sources instead of all this BS and academia around it is because it's the closest thing we can get to directly engaging with philosophers of the past. It's a school of thought about schools of thought - you can't cram it like bad revision.
