Just finished Dostoyevsky's Demons. Great novel. Throughout my reading of it, I jotted down certain sequences which I think will inform the novel I'm writing that will, ambitiously, capture the feeling of the late 2020s proactively. Some scenes in particular which struck me as relevant:
>Shatov's speech to Stavrogin during "night".
>Kirilov when he agrees to be Stavrogin's second
>The governor when his Jewish assistant tries to warn him
>Peter when he is desperately trying to keep Stavrogin from leaving

Any others that might reflect the narcissistic, nihilistic, rental society which we're starting to broadly embrace as our family structures crumble?

I loved this book. It was rich, complex, and, above all, prescient. Would recommend.
