But here's a step-by step guide to becoming a writer (or an hero): read, read more, copy prose that you like, try to understand why you like it, unironically write a diary, try not to wear your influences on your sleeve, maybe if you're down post your recent work in the Creative Writing General or the critique threads, see what Anons don't like about your writing and overdo that very thing in your next post making your work an absolute chore to grind through. After that's done, call your friend who works at a publisher and first publish your shitty absurdist novella where all the female characters have small tits and stinky farts, and all men are devout followers of their irrational beliefs. Congrats, you made it. Now prithee go hastily onward and starve like most of us with standards do. Or write erotica. (if you don't have a publisher friend, get one, self-publishing is a meme and no one will take you seriously)
