Anyone read Roadside Picnic by the Strugatsky-brothers? Any thoughts about these kind of Soviet-era scifi books?

I haven't read any others myself. Found this one while reading about the inspiration for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games

I wasn't expecting this to be so good where do i find similar things? I knew about stalker but tbh i didn't think the novel it was based off of would be anything that good.

Start with the soviets.

I've been wanting to read more sci-fi and was wondering if /lit/ could help me assemble a starter kit.
So far I just have a Roadside Picnic but I've been meaning to pick something up by Lem as well, preferably a novella or some short stories. Also maybe some Ray Bradbury?

What are some good russian science fiction novels, /lit/?

This one has always drawn me in.

Is this worth a read?
