I had the strangest dream last night. In it, I died. I know that dying in dreams is not that unusual, but in this dream I died AND went to heaven. Or at least, some sort of an afterlife. I felt myself die, then I saw my vision narrow and my mind flood with endorphins. I saw before me a narrow letterboxed sky, bordered by black, the image getting narrower as my soul ascended and I got closer to the vision. But I never reached the top of the vision and a voice spoke within me to tell me I was in purgatory. There I was stuck, not fully ascended but no longer on earth - trapped perpetually in between - getting closer to the vision but never moving. I woke up with a jolt, like my spirit had landed back in my body. I haven't felt quite right all day. I feel almost haunted.

I am utterly convinced that the vision was real.
