Lagacy of Ashes is a good start. It's s a history of all the directors and overseas operations through 2007 when it was published. Shit is 900 pages and still just scratches the surface but it's definitely worth the read.

and it all comes tumbling down

Seriously though, shit's fucked. I hate it, I feel visceral hatred towards it. What does that really mean? Shit I don't know, but I've got an idea. Trying to build a society free from all the flaws we've got is hopeless. It's like an ugly person trying to plastic surgery their way to being attractive. Cosmetic modifications like that can tune you up a bit but go just a little bit too far and you're Joan Rivers, and there's no going back at that point. You've just gotta die and maybe the next person will be better off, somehow, perhaps they'll learn from your mistakes, perhaps they won't be stupid enough to make them in the first place.

Regardless, I have an idea. You're not going to use plastic surgery to make yourself pretty unless you already had decent genetics to begin with. There's only so much that can be done. In that same way, human society can only progress so far and get so comfortable with human beings being the way that they are. If we want a perfect society, the people in it have to be pretty close to perfect already. No workarounds. Australia never stopped being a prison. It was shitty people from the get go and look at the hot mess it is now.

No, people need to be fixed, then the perfect society will be inevitable. How do we change people? I think we should, on an individual level, work to better ourselves as much as possible, then simply help others with the process afterwards. The more we equip ourselves to help others, the more we equip others to help even more. We could systemize the will to power. Give people a simple step by step list to work down. Manufacture the Ubermensch. I have to do this. I have obsessive compulsive disorder directed at the illogical. If problems with solutions exist, and people are aware of them, but the problems aren't being solved, I feel this extremely uncomfortable mix of anxiety and frustration. It feels like the hemispheres of my brain are being twisted in opposite directions, like a mental indian burn, and it's almost like I can physically feel heat coming from the joint where the halves meet. The brain doesn't have nerves, but I can FEEL inside of it, and it hurts. I've already taken suicide off the table for philosophical reasons, so the only out I have to easing the discomfort is to solve problems. I hope some people will help me.
