No. The shroud of Turin is physical evidence.

alright since you grabbed dubs and are baiting and unwilling to use your own brain:

the factuality of those events is irrelevant because i have faith in God, the first principle, which very obviously came by some other way (read the thread), and even if those events did not happen exactly as described my faith allows that they would have been *possible* because where an incarnation of the Creator on his own Earth.is concerned nothing is impossible.

and no, we're not talking about justified belief. we're discussing belief which, again, has no proof. although since you're apparently a low empiricist there are some pretty good enigmas which you should try to answer (such as the shroud lecture linked above).

i'm not trying to convince you, silly guy. i'm not saying i'm right and you're wrong, so stuff your fedora attitude in the trash. i've only been saying what i believe, and you've been shitting out brainlet replies for the past hundred posts or so. let me make it simple for you: you can't prove God doesn't exist. so take your superior self to a park or something and meditate on humility.

The carbon dating was done on a section which was added later to repair it. The shroud is legit. There are too many factors that the person who 'forged' it would've needed to consider. The blood flows and scourge marks consistent with a roman flagrum from that time period. The thumbs that turned inward due to nails being driven through the wrists, the fact that the injuries were on the wrists during a time period when people incorrectly thought that the nails went through the hands, the fact that the shroud has pollen on it from plants around Judea, did the forger make a trip there specifically to put that on? The fact that the image isn't painted on, it's been burned on and can be scraped off the surface, paint would've soaked into the fabric. The fact that even today we cannot replicate whatever technique they would've used to create it.

Well lets get into evidence for Jesus.
Besides Tacitus' emotional comments on Nero, he is thought to source all of his comments based on Roman annals. That such a movement existed within his life (58-120AD) that made a harsh claim to a Roman governor and is treated as fact is best explained by historicity of the man.

Beyond this we do have Josephus' writings. The only alteration in regards to Jesus is assuming he believed the divinity of Christ. Origen quotes Josephus before alterations happened and the whole "james brother of jesus" and his baptism segments are irrevocably true and have been reviewed and confirmed by non-christian academics time and time again.

Else, we have:
- Pre-Pauline hymns of Jesus resurrection (1 Corinthians 15) that date from weeks to months after the death of Jesus within the same year
- Pre-Pauline hymns of Jesus as God (Philippians 2)
- Peter's speech in Acts 2
- Paul's conversation with James the brother of Jesus and Peter in Galatians
- Pre-Markan Narrative of the resurrection
- Mark's preservation of Jesus Aramaism
- Mark's preservation of Peter's embarrassments presupposes Jesus existence
- Multiple attestation of the sermon on the mount and of John the Baptist
- Suetonius mentions Christ having instigated the Jews against the Roman

You're not going to find hardly any professional historians who dispute the existence of Jesus. Bart Ehrman, who is known for being extremely critical of Christianity, only notes two people in relevant fields becoming notable for such a position. It's not a tenable position in modern historian circles. It's like trying to argue that Hannibal or Boudicca or Alexander didn't exist. It's a view that is only popular in anti-Christian circles.

Historicity is probability based and there is no better understanding of the coming of Christianity than the historicity of Jesus.

Been holding on to this badboy for two long without any real input, was a prose/poetry piece but I felt like the density of it was hindering the communication so I broke it up, and the breaks do add another dimension of expression that I really like so,

critique it and post one of yours, I have some more if anyone is interested. Dont hold back but tell me what's good too, Enjoy

Watering Hole

Most people affect me
as much as a pimple does.
They swell me up
a little at first, convincing
me that I’ve gained something
only to leave me with a pock mark
reminder of the time I lost
popping it. Letting it die naturally
is never as satisfying, is it?

By comparison, her affection,
and the subsequent lack of it,
felt like an improbable impact
event. A blinding cannibalistic fusion
slowly cooling in pieces,
her vacant eyes left like craters
on the dead moon, reflected as a distant memory
off the black tides it still held sway over.
A light in my eyes
I couldn’t avoid
no matter how many times I rolled over.
I should probably wash my sheets.

Some women were a pretty shell
you felt lucky to find on a beach.
Resting your head on their conch hearts
you could still only hear the distant echo
of blood
rushing through your own searching ears.

Her attention was the hushing sting
of the man o’ war, slicking away moments
by the syncopated rhythm of the heart. I knew
she didn’t love me
but rather loved me loving her,
and you could call that vain
but honesty goes a long way with me.
So I gave her all
anyone really has to give, time. If she would have let me,
I would have given her more of it.

Coursing time had refined her
to smooth prismatic lines shining,
she will tell me this
portrait of her is too ambiguous.
Channeling the whole of life in
singular
white light through her riming eyes
she projected a spectrum out the back
for the world to see. With a hydra for hair
I could see why she cried, but I still asked her why.
